Hi

If you're into DIY, a pig ark of no great level of luxury can be easily cobbled together from old scrap corrugated iron sheeting and lengths of 2x4 timber with a few nails. They need about a square metre per fully grown pig. When they are smaller they shouldn't be given so much room as they'll soil in the house instead of outside. However, being fairly clean living creatures, if the living space isn't large enough to have an indoor toilet that doesn't impinge on their lying down area, they'll go out.

I can make an ark of 6 ft by 8 ft for €550 at the last calculation. The price depends largely on the price of the curved steel top. The floor and ends are of WBP plywood, the sub-frame of treated 4x2 timber and the roof of pre-painted, curved corrugated iron sheeting. The price includes delivery.

Come back to me if you have any further questions.

All the best,

Dan Hillman

I am interested in a pig ark to house a pig and litter. I am presentently unemployed so a resonable price is importanr. I am situated just north of the border, half way between Dundalk and Newry. Other orders may be possible as interest in self sustainablablilty is fast growing and I am looking for agencies as a possibility

The dragon looks nice. I used one of your pictures I really liked on my blog and put a link to yours with it. I hope you don't mind. If you do, let me know and I'll take it down.

Choosing "safe" toys for children has gotten a lot harder recently. I always encourage parents and grantparents concerned about toy safety to play it safe and buy toys made in the USA. These are very beautiful and will be instant Heirlooms! Nice work!

hiya Dan,

I was checking this website to see if I could find your email address, and I can't. I suppose that's not a problem as mine isn't on my blog either, but send me an email so I get your address as well as Beckys. When B emailed to say your other one gets too much spam and that it's different now, I suddenly thought I'd better get yours just incase.
