I am a fly on the wall in the workshop of Dan Hillman, the creator of Hobby Horse Toys. I’ll be bringing you images of his work in progress and regular snippets from around Dans homestead in rural Ireland. If (or more likely ‘when’) you fall in love with Dans creations, you can visit his website at www.hobbyhorsetoys.com to place an order, or email him on dan[at]hobbyhorsetoys.com He is always more than delighted to deal direct with his customers, and also thrives on custom made requests.

They’re beautiful. I’ve only seen the mass-produced kind…yours are works of art.

Great idea – I can;’t wait – spending a fair bit of time hacking around the garage with power tools myself – with mostly disastrous and dangerous results – I can’t wait to see what a professional studio looks like, how a professional works. Creating lovely wooden toys is much harder and more time consuming than most people realise – you are a real inspiration!

They are wonderful hobby horses (but then I already link to the main site). I will be ordering a couple (but am planning them as a Spring present, when the weather gets better).
